Stones at the Super Bowl
If you saw the half-time show for SUPERBOWL '06!...that guy who plays bass guitar with  MICK,  KEITH,  CHARLIE and the
ROLLING STONES
is   Darryl (Munch) Jones   from Carbondale's S.I.U. (via Chicago). You might also remember him from  "When You Love Somebody" (Please, Please, Set Them Free!) by  STING. Although a color video, in it MUNCH was the only player electronically altered to be only in black and white. Before he played with STING, he was with MILES DAVIS. The reason I tell you all that is to tell you this:  I played with Darryl Jones back in the 80s with the "T". Hart Group from Carbondale (SIU) IL.  We only played a handful of gigs together...some may have been with Big Larry (Williams) Albritton, Big Twist's brother.  I was telling someone the other night here in Springfield that T. Hart, Melvin Crisp and I went out and saw Darryl  playing music out at the old LAKE CLUB (before it burned down) in a disco/dance mix kind of band in the wee morning hours when he was only about 17 or 18 years old.

And in 1972 we had a daughter born.
ALICIA KAYE COX, now is Mrs. Shawn Henderliter and the happy couple live here in Springfield also, although they moved up here a couple years before we did. Their favorite passtime is something like Creative Anachronism wherein they love to BEAT EACH OTHER WITH PADDED BATS AND SWORDS.
Mixed emotions here because they haven't consented to make us grandparents (yet).
