"Does the church here in America really love The Lord? Does it really serve Him? Recently, a notable speaker was talking on the condition of America and the current presidential scandal. He stated that America needed to get back to God and become one nation under God again. This is very true and worthy of mentioning. However, in order to please God, it is going to take more than just being one nation under God, it is going to require it to be One Church Under God!
The condition of America with its abortion, homosexuality, violence,
and open sanctioning of immorality and deceit, truly angers God. But, so
does "christian" sports programs, "christian" financial programs, "christian"
health and wealth programs, dramatic cinematographic skits and plays rather
than deep, sincere Bible studies, "christian" political campaigns, and so
forth. Sports has become a god in itself. God Almighty will not share His
worship or throne with any thing or any body. Just because something does
not blatantly appear to be sinful or immoral, does not exempt it from being
a stench in the nostrils of God!
God has not called the Church to fun, laziness, pleasure-seeking, and
indifference. Rather, He has called His Bride to, ".......deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall
lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it"
(Matthew 16:24-25). He has called the Church to preach the Gospel to
every creature, to give to those that are in need, to feed the poor, to
effectually and fervently pray, to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, to
bear one another's burdens--not to have a "good time"--but to be a light
in darkness.
How can there be a light in the darkness when that light blends in or conforms with that darkness? "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:14-16).
God is going to judge this lukewarm church, "For the time is
come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin
at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" (I
Peter 4:17). When this judgment occurs, the "christian" political groups
will not be able to fight it in court, the marketers of the gospel will not
be able to sell their way out of it, and the accumulators of wealth--who
have taken at the expense of those giving their last dime--will not be able
to buy their way out of it. There will be only one way of escape: "If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from
heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (II Chronicles
7:14). However, if this is not practiced in advance--"Before the decree
bring forth....." (Zephaniah 2:2)--even this will be too late." (Message,
"One Church Under God," dated February/March, 1998).
We can see that judgment is here, the night time coming when no man can
work! It is indeed time to pray and seek the face of Our Heavenly Father!
I continue to feel that we will see days in this nation that the mind of
man cannot conceive. It would not surprise me to see famine and a foreign
invasion on our soil. This nation has become a dry and dreary land and a
time of drab and dreary famine will come. We will see what happens. One thing
is for certain, Babylon could have been healed, but it chose not to, "Babylon
hath been a golden cup in the Lord's hand, that made all the earth drunken:
the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. Babylon
is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain,
if so be she may be healed. We would have healed Babylon, but she is not
healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her
judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies" (Jeremiah
51: 7-9).
While judgment is mounting, something wonderful is preparing to happen.
This is the greatest of all miracles that could ever be known, the hope that
dispels the despair, The Light that exceedingly outshines the darkness! For
the children of God there is always strong consolation and hope! While
the sun is setting on this world, the Sun is also preparing to rise, "But
unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing
in his wings;........................" (Malachi 4: 2).
This is truly our great hope and comfort! As the world is spinning out
of control, as a time of drab and dreariness is coming upon this nation,
Jesus Christ is preparing to come and spare His jewels, "Then they that
feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard
it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared
the Lord, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the
Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them,
as a man spareth his own son that serveth him" (Malachi 3: 16-17). Christ
is coming again! With all the things going on in the world, there is still
great reason for the child of God to rejoice! No matter how much tribulation
we go through, we are still victorious if our trust is in Christ! Jesus tells
us, "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift
up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh" (Luke 21: 28).
Let us run to the hills for safety, "I will lift up mine eyes unto
the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which
made heaven and earth" (Psalms 121: 1-2). Let us call upon, "..................Jesus
the author and finisher of our faith;.................." (Hebrews 12:
2). He is our soon coming King, our Savior, "But now thus saith the Lord
that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not:
for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire,
thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I
am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:....................."
(Isaiah 43: 1-3).
As we see these things begin to come to pass, let us trust in The Lord.
In Him only plant your trust! Everything else is on sinking sand!
Blessings to you all in The Name of Jesus Christ! Blessed be the name
of The Lord. Amen and amen and amen!
